The Alternatives to Guardianship Clinics at UT Law provide free consultation and execution for appropriate legal alternatives to guardianship. This presentation will cover different legal documents and options which can serve as successful alternatives to guardianship.

In this presentation, we will discuss how to work on self-determination and how those skills can lead to becoming a self-advocate. Nicole will speak about self-determination as a former Transition Teacher and Brooke will speak about advocacy as a self-advocate and Director of Texas Advocates.

Bright Sky Connections provides social skills training, mentorship/life coaching, self-regulation strategies and behavioral supports with a goal to produce postive outcomes for gaining social independence, relieving social anxiety, and the acquisition of coping skills. We aim to empower, encourage and support individuals to live a fullfilling and self-determined life free of any restrictions due to social anxiety and emotional challenges. We work one on one or with small groups and our clients benefit from excursions in the community to produce authentic scenarios for growth.
